Great Volunteers
A big hand of applause to all the volunteers who wrapped gifts for customers and the Angel Tree at Tamarack Centre this past Christmas Season.

A total of $5,982 was received by the Cancer Society after Tamarack Centre donated $500.

As part of the Olympic Torch Relay festivities through Cranbrook, The Tamarack Centre joined forces with the Cranbrook & District Chamber of Commerce, for a
Hands Up Canada – Cranbrook Spirit Rises event on January 21st.
A new respect for our Paralympic athletes was earned by members of our community. Teams of 4 included: City Council, JC’s, Chamber Staff, Tamarack Administration Staff, HP Painting, The Cranbrook Daily Townsman and Kootenay St. Car Wash.  Team members took turns in the timed relay that consisted of passing a hockey puck from a wheel chair to a sledge (creeper) rider with a final questionnaire about the Paralympics.  This no-use-of-legs relay proved to be a challenge, 1st Place – Cranbrook Daily Townsman, 2nd Place – HP Painting and 3rd Place – JC’s.

A Special Thank you to Medichair Cranbrook and NAPA for supplying the wheelchairs and creepers for use by our "Athletes".

Each team donated their entry fee to The Canadian Paralympic Committee - directly benefitting their programs and services that support Canadians with a disability to participate and excel in sport, such as the Paralympic Equipment Fund and the Canadian Paralympic Team program.  Cheer on our Paralympic athletes with a message at: http://www.handsupcanada.ca/send-a-message.html
Good Job Mr. Mayor
His Honor, Mayor Scott Manjak, answers the multiple choice questionnaire trying to earn 5 seconds off his total team time with each correctly answered question!
Kurt Swanson propels himself around the final turn to pass the hockey puck to his waiting team mate.
Team Work
Fun Raising
Denise Paulson is prepared for “Ready.Set.Go.” to start her team’s relay.
Chris Franklin of the JC’s performs a ”wheelie” before taking the puck from the start line.

Sledge Hockey
The pressure is on the shoulders of the National Sledge Hockey Team to bring home another Gold.

The team practiced in Kimberley and put on quite a show, demonstrating the great skill and strength requires to play sledge hockey.

Support our team by watching the games at the Tamarack Centre food court March 12- 21.
